Fall term essay submission

Below is the procedure for submission for all Fall term affiliate students.
You are to submit two 2000 word (max) essays per psychology module (e.g., PSYC 2207).

The first essay of each module is due on Friday Dec, 3rd 2010 at 3 pm.
The second essay of each module is due on Thursday Dec, 16th 2010 at 3pm

Essays are to be submitted on Psychology Online System (POS) at

https://www.online.psychol.ucl.ac.uk/login.aspx

After clicking ‘workspace’, you will find a relevant 'course code' on the left side, depending on how many psych modules you have ('AFF1' if you're doing one module, 'AFF2' for two modules, and so on), with the correct number of written work to submit (two for 'AFF1', four for 'AFF2' and so on). These are generic POS 'course codes' specially created for affiliate essay submission, and do not correspond to specific psychology modules that you are enrolled in. The essays you submit will be sorted afterwards based on the specific module names. You can also submit before the due dates above.

Please email steve.williams@ucl.ac.uk if you are having trouble logging in, or if the course code you see on POS does not correspond to the number of psych modules you are taking.

Below is the link to a step-by-step instruction with screenshots of POS:

For sorting purposes, you need to save your essay file with a specific format:

Coursecode (4 digits), i or ii (for first or second essay), underscore, UCL username (zcj...)

For example, on Dec 3rd, an essay for PSYC3307A submitted by a student with the username zcjtfa2 should have the file name3307i_zcjtfa2 and on Dec 16th, the file name should be 3307ii_zcjtfa2.

For those students who are permitted to submit one 4000 word essay rather than two 2000 word ones (e.g. for 3203), you need to submit a dummy document file Dec,3rd with file name: 3203DUMMY_zcjtfa2 and then the real 4000 word essay on Dec, 16th with the file name 3203_zcjtfa2 (without i or ii).
Important notes:

It is assumed that essays submitted through POS are genuine work of the authors and that material drawn from other sources has been appropriately acknowledged. Any case of plagiarism will be treated seriously.

Essays should follow general APA citation and references guidelines. Only include your candidate number AND UCL username (zcj...) as a header or footer within the document, not your real name. For ease of marking, include essay questions in the beginning of essay.

Penalties for late submission:
The full allocated mark should be reduced by 5 percentage points for the first working day after the deadline for the submission of the coursework. The mark will be reduced by a further 10 percentage points if the coursework is submitted during the following six days.
For example, an essay with a mark of 68% with one day penalty will receive 63% as the final mark.

Best,

Irma, Matthias, and Jo
